For Moms & Babies OPTIONS, LOVE AND TRUTH in August
Why: Because God loves mothers and babies in their time of need. He desires for all to come to a knowledge of Jesus' sacrifice and to be saved, and He wishes for none to perish. Prov. 24:11-12 "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?" Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lntyv5Kwj0M&ab_channel=CreatedEqualFilms
How: Talk with mothers before they enter abortion centers, offer to support them and their baby, should they choose to keep or adopt her, and hold up signs revealing the truth of what abortion does to babies and moms, and of the good news and hope found only in Jesus Christ.
Who: Everyone is welcome to apply. Adults, and minors accompanied by a parent, or a legal guardian assigned by both parents. Limit 40 participants. First accepted applicants, first served.
What: Ministering to mothers considering abortion, and to their babies whose lives are in danger.
Where: Portland, Oregon area
When: In August, date to be announced. Plus one training meeting
Due Date: Application due: August 1st.
How much: Free
What is included: Training, support on site, materials, and administration.
You’ve watched the conversation, above. Now it’s time to revisit three key moments in the dialogue.
Begin with the broad principle. When asked for his opinion, the student tosses it back onto Evangeline. She doesn’t just say, "I think abortion is wrong." Instead she appeals to the bedrock principle—an obvious point of common ground the student will not deny.
Point to logical conclusions. When the student suggests abortion is the answer to a tough situation, Evangeline doesn’t just say, "You’re wrong, that doesn’t justify killing a preborn baby." Instead, she invites him to consider applying his logic to another young human.
Point to a better worldview. Sensing his mind changing on abortion, Evangeline now strengthens his new conviction. She points to the ugliness of prejudice. She also presents a strong view of human equality.
